Grieving
is a universal experience; it is also an extremely personal
one.
No two people navigate the mourning process in quite the
same way; neither does any one individual mourn different
losses in the same way.
This six-week series enables participants to better understand
the grief journey and learn that they are not alone. Together
with the facilitator, the passage becomes a partnership
for grief expression and reclaiming your life.
Susan Madison serves as Director of Pastoral Care at First
Unitarian Church of Dallas. She holds an MA in Pastoral
Counseling and is a member of the International Association
for Death Educators and Counselors.

Grief
Recovery assists in the healing of loss. We may grieve the
loss of a loved-one, a job, a relationship, a home, a pet, an
old dream, physical capability, a grown child, a family, etc.
Whatever has caused your grief,
this class offers information, resources, support and fellowship.
We learn the human response to loss and how to complete the stages
of grieving.
Participants
discover the importance of
depression, guilt, fear, anger and sadness as well as how
to move through and beyond these natural emotions.
Find support and resources through sharing, meditation and prayer.
Honor your journey through
acknowledging the loss, letting go of the past and turning to
your new beginning.

of experience, is very spiritual and down-to-earth!
She has tremendous knowledge."
"The
class was amazingly helpful for all attendees. She is absolutely
wonderful - loving, caring, giving and understanding. We were
all uplifted."
"This
class was exceptional. We always stayed late - no one wanting
to leave. A few people improved in two-to-three weeks. They would
come in at their lowest and were smiling in a short period of
time. We all have become friends not wanting this class to end."
"She
is one of the most authentic people I know."
"Please,
please continue this class. It's one of the best and most worthwhile
classes I've ever attended."

was very prepared with great handouts and demonstrated examples
on the board."
"This
is one of the most wonderful classes/support groups that I have
ever attended."
"Although
I began this class in support of my friend, I too benefitted greatly.
I am so inspired that, after class, it takes me quite awhile before
I fall asleep."
"This
class is needed for the church community!! This class has helped
